PTSD/Trauma Related Disorders

What we Treat – PTSD & Trauma-Related Track

Our outpatient trauma track is designed to help those who have a diagnosis of PTSD, acute stress disorder, or an adjustment disorder. The team has specialized training and expertise in treating a wide range of traumas including:

  • military/combat events
  • first responder psychological injuries (including police, corrections, fire, paramedics and nursing)
  • workplace accidents
  • sexual assault and childhood abuse
  • psychological abuse
  • violence and physical abuse

We work closely with:

  • The Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB)
  • The Non-Insured Health Benefit (NIHB) Program for First Nations and Inuit clients
  • The Encompas Program servicing the Ontario Provincial Police

The goals of this program are to reduce intrusive thoughts, painful emotions, and avoidant behaviours and to help our clients recover, return to work, and find stability.
